Samuel, 67 years old, is a retired concierge of a local movie theatre. Nowadays, he enjoys watching Western movies at home. He was diagnosed with primary metastatic RCC 4 years ago. Metastatic sites at primary diagnosis included lung, bone, lymph nodes and adrenal gland.

Assessment summary:

  • Underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy on the right side 4 years ago
    • pT2a L0 V0 pR0
    • Grade 2 ccRCC
  • Biopsy of bone: histologically confirmed metastasis
  • IMDC: intermediate risk
  • No relevant past medical history
  • First-line therapy with sunitinib (50 mg/daily) on a 4 weeks on-2 week off schedule
  • Now, 4 years later: disease progression, metastatic sites: lung, bone, lymph nodes and adrenal gland
