Manuel (73 years old)

Manuel, a 73-year-old man, presented with symptoms of sore throat and rhinorrhoea. He lives together with his wife, who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. He had no fever, and his examination was normal. You recommended self-isolation, separated from his wife.

2 days later the patient developed a mild fever (37.5 °C). He also had an headache and a mild cough. A rapid antigen test was negative.

After 48 hours (the 5th day since the 1st appointment) the patient reports that the fever is decreasing (this morning 37 °C) and that mild symptoms persist (rhinorrhoea, sore throat). At the clinical examination in the practice, including temperature, is normal.
