Virginia is a 72-year-old retired hairdresser. She still cuts the hair of her grandchildren, but they don’t like it because she is starting to have trouble cutting straight without glasses. She was diagnosed with early breast cancer after detecting a lump in her right breast on self-examination.

- No family history of breast or ovarian cancer
- Postmenopausal since age 51
- Stage and tumour biology at diagnosis:
- cT2N0M0
- ER 100%, PgR 100%, HER2 IHC 0, Ki67 15%
- Upfront BCS + SLNB
- Pathology report:
- G2 lobular carcinoma
- Unifocal, 28 mm, pT2
- LVI or perineural invasion absent
- R0 resection (free margins)
- pN0 (0/3 sn)
- Multidisciplinary board meeting: postoperative RT and endocrine therapy + bisphosphonates
