Claudia, a 67-year-old woman, visited her doctor after experiencing persistent back pain following a stumble on her porch. An X-ray revealed an unusual lesion in her spine. Further diagnostic tests ultimately confirmed the presence of metastatic breast cancer.
Assessment summary:
- Postmenopausal
- ECOG PS: 0
- Short bowel syndrome with history of chronic diarrhoea; no other significant medical history
- No family history of breast cancer
- Imaging:
- 4 cm tumour in the left breast, 3 suspicious axillary lymph nodes
- Multiple suspicious lesions in the spine
- 2 lesions suspicious for metastases in the liver
- Biopsy of breast and liver lesion: breast cancer, NST, ER 80%, PgR 60%, HER2 IHC 0, G2
- Haematology and biochemistry: all values normal
- Germline BRCA-status: wild type
