Renal cell carcinoma
Adjuvant therapy in RCCIrina (62 years old)
Irina, now 62 years old, has dreamed of becoming an astronomer since childhood. After decades spent unravelling the mysteries of distant stars, she still gazes at each constellation with the same curiosity and admiration she had as a child.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with oligometastatic ccRCC.
Assessment summary:
- ECOG PS: 0
- No relevant comorbidities
- Thoracoabdominal and pelvic CT scan: left renal mass of 7.5 cm and 2 small pulmonary lesions (18 mm and 15 mm) in left lower lobe
6 months ago, she underwent radical nephrectomy of the left kidney.
Pathological findings:
- pT3a tumour of 6.5 cm, renal vein invasion
- WHO/ISUP grade 3 ccRCC
- No sarcomatoid features
- Negative surgical margins
The patient has recovered after surgery and comes to you for check-up. The 2 small pulmonary lesions are stable and can be treated locally.
