Bladder cancer
Low- and intermediate-risk NMIBC: surveillance or intravesical therapy?

Augustine (75 years old)

Augustine is a 75-year-old painter. He takes his easel to the most beautiful spots in his neighborhood to paint landscapes.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Initial TURBT showed 1 pTa LG tumour of 5 cm. He received intravesical BCG for 1 year for intermediate-risk bladder cancer.

Cystoscopy 6 months after completion of BCG therapy shows a suspicious lesion. He underwent TURBT and received 1 chemotherapy instillation within 24 hours after TURBT. The pathology report confirms a pTa LG tumour of 1 cm (muscle in specimen, no LVI).
