NEW --- Treatment approaches for patients diagnosed with (very) high-risk NMIBCRonan (79 years old)
Ronan, 79-year-old with a passion for Gaelic football, was initially diagnosed with intermediate-risk NMIBC, which was treated with TURBT followed by intravesical chemotherapy for 1 year.
Follow-up cystoscopy 1 year after the final course of intravesical chemotherapy showed 2 papillary tumours (largest diameter: 2 cm) at the anterior bladder wall.
Assessment summary:
- Medical history:
- Former smoker (30 pack years)
- Hypertension, moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- No haematuria, voiding difficulties or urinary tract infection
- ECOG PS: 1
- American Society of Anaesthesiology (ASA) score: 2
- Urine cytology: HG UCa (according to the Paris system)
- CT urography: cN0, no concomitant upper tract tumour
