Emmerich, a 71-year-old vintage radio collector and repairman, spends hours restoring old radios. He underwent cystoscopy for painless macroscopic haematuria.

Assessment summary:

  • Medical history: former smoker (30 pack years)
  • ECOG PS: 0
  • Cystoscopy: multiple reddish lesions at the posterior bladder wall
  • Urine cytology: HG UCa (according to the Paris system)

On TURBT, urothelial CIS was detected. A CT urography ruled out nodal and upper tract involvement.
