Bladder cancer
Low- and intermediate-risk NMIBC: surveillance or intravesical therapy?

Abigale (69 years old)

Abigale is a 69-year-old retired headmaster. Every day she walks past her former school and every time she stops a moment and thinks about how much she misses her old job.

Recently, she visited her doctor for painless haematuria. Workup showed a tumour on the right bladder wall. TURBT shows 1 small pTa tumour of 1.5 cm with a visual appearance suggesting a low-stage, low-grade superficial tumour.

She has a moderate bladder perforation due to obturator nerve reflex during TURBT.
