Case 1: Rafael (60 years old)

Rafael, a 60-year-old dentist, brings a calming presence and a reassuring smile to his practice. With each precise movement of his tools, he transforms his patients' anxiety into comfort, leaving them at ease in his capable hands.

Unfortunately, he was recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

Assessment summary:

  • ECOG PS: 0
  • No relevant comorbidities
  • Thoracoabdominal and pelvic CT scan: central tumour of the right kidney (9 cm) without lymph node (LN) involvement

He underwent radical nephrectomy of the right kidney 6 weeks ago.

Pathological findings:

  • pT3a tumour of 8.5 cm, renal vein invasion
  • WHO/ISUP grade 1 ccRCC
  • No tumour necrosis
  • No sarcomatoid features
  • Negative surgical margins

The patient has recovered after surgery and comes to you for check-up. No metastatic lesions were identified on post-surgery CT scan.
