Michaela is 89 years old and lives in rural village, a 2-hour car ride away from the next city. Unfortunately, she fell during a walk in the woods and hurt her leg badly. She was transferred to the local hospital, where an X-ray revealed a fracture of the right femur due to a suspicious lesion.

Assessment summary:

  • Postmenopausal
  • Medical history:
    • Diabetes mellitus type 2
    • Ulcerative colitis
    • Long QT syndrome
  • ECOG PS: 2
  • No family history of breast cancer 
  • Biopsy of the bone lesion: breast cancer, ER 100%, PgR 100%, HER2 IHC 0, G1
  • Imaging:
    • 2.5 cm tumour in the right breast, 1 suspicious axillary lymph node
    • 1 metastasis in right femur, no further metastases
