Ricardo (68 years old)

Ricardo is a 68-year-old male patient, suffering from idiopathic cutaneous vasculitis for 3 years. He presents with low-grade fever, malaise, sore throat and runny nose for 4 days. He was boosted with the COVID-19 vaccine 2 weeks ago. He tested positive for COVID-19 2 days ago with a rapid antigen test. He has been taking colchicine for his vasculitis, for 3 years. He also has hypertension (uses losartan 50 mg once daily) and is obese (BMI 31 kg/m2).

Lab results:

  • CRP 5.1 mg/l

Physical examination:

  • Lungs clear to auscultation
  • Blood pressure 150/90 mmHg
