Long COVID

Konstantin (52 years old)

Konstantin, 52 years old, presents with extreme anxiety after a very mild acute COVID-19 infection. He had a mild fever for a couple of days, a sore throat and his physical findings were completely normal during the acute phase of the disease. He is otherwise very healthy, physically active and works as an executive in a prestigious firm. He is firmly against COVID-19 vaccination. 6 weeks after the diagnosis he feels very anxious, has trouble sleeping, is afraid for his wellbeing, and cannot concentrate on his work assignments. He took sick leave and spends all of his time in bed, doesn`t go out at all. There is no history of mental illnesses in his family. His physical examination findings are normal.
