Klaus (71 years old)

A 71-year-old Klaus received his 3rd booster dose 6 months ago. He tested positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test 2 days ago. He has a sore throat, dry cough and muscle pain for 3 days now which is being treated with paracetamol and cough mixture. He has developed a fever, chest pain and productive cough and feels weak.

His BMI is 28 kg/m2 and he has a history of hypertension and heart failure. For his conditions, he is taking ramipril 5 mg, bisoprolol 5 mg and furosemide 40 mg, all once daily.

Examination:

  • CRP: 30 mg/l
  • SpO2: 90%
  • Physical examination: basal crackles, swollen ankles
